Welcome back to my website & thanks for visiting !
Birchbark, moss + lichens

No special themes today – just some random shots from visits to the Nopiming area. This is one of my favourite places in the Province due to the fact that it is not overly developed. I hope you enjoy today’s photos. The first photo shows moss and lichens growing on a piece of birch log. I love the textures and colours of the bark, moss and lichens and always try to get some close-up photos that show how delicate these forms of plant life are.

There is a reason this bear cub was standing at my trunk – I had forgotten some food and the bears (mother with two cubs) sniffed it out. A good lesson as to why you should have food securely stored when in bear country. Fortunately, no damage to the car.
