Just for Fun – photos
[Gallery not found]Pic 1: The mother red squirrel was having a problem fitting both herself and her little one through the opening in the bird house that she had taken over. She ended up dropping her little ones on the ground one by one and then transported them one by one by mouth to another bird house. I guess moving was easier than renovating!
Pic 2: A friend’s cat decided that her window planter was a great place to laze around on summer days.
Pic 3: I liked the reflection of my bobber on the calm water one day while I was out fishing.
Pic 4: This poor little prairie dog obviously has not had enough to chew and it’s teeth have overgrown. Sometimes mother nature is not kind.
Pic 5: The northern flying squirrel is a small squirrel. It has very large, round black eyes that help it see at night and a long, flattened tail. It has cinnamon brown fur above and creamy white fur below. It has a loose fold of skin between its front and rear feet. When it stretches out its legs, this skin forms a kind of parachute that lets the squirrel glide from branch to branch. The squirrels “flew” in after dark to the bird feeding station. Note the broad tail which it uses as a rudder. Their bodies are rounder than the squirrels we are accustomed to seeing. Their fur also seems softer – almost chinchilla like. It was a real treat to watch them. This picture was taken in the dark of night. I was able to brighten it using a photoshop program.
Pic 6: Frost on the window. Where I live the temperatures can be extreme in winter and when the weather gets to -30 celcius sometimes a window will frost up with beautiful designs. This reminded me of a group of dancers in long flowing gowns and also of a forest of spruce. Perhaps you see something else?
